BOOKIE was founded in 2008 as a privately funded limited company in Switzerland, and in the same year, we released the first version of our sports betting platform. After four years of extensive development, in close collaboration with industry-leading professionals, we launched the second version into the Asian market.
By 2012, our small team dealt with one million daily bets from markets across Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond. We continued to work towards our goals and ambitions of being the Swiss Army Knife of online entertainment. Shortly, having worked day and night to create our unique sportsbook platform, we released our third version with the promise that “wherever you are in the world, BOOKIE will be available, secure, economical, and effective.”
In 2016, it became obvious to us that the iGaming industry was changing, so we decided to redesign all our products and services to become fully licensed and certified in Europe. By 2019, and after overcoming some extraordinary challenges, we released our fourth version, approved, and licensed by the MGA. Then, in 2020, after endless testing cycles, we were awarded the UKGC Software license and ISO 27001:2013 certification from iTech Labs for Version 5.0, and so the story continues.
